Our littlest lady is now 9 months old! Eek, only 3 more months and she will be 1 year. Can't hardly believe that! Grace had another fun filled month of growing and learning new things. In particular, the past couple of weeks she has just seemed to grow up a lot more! She is definitely becoming her own little person- and a very fun sweet one. :)
Here is Missy's 8 month photo- let's just ignore the fact that I'm always a month behind on posting her monthly pictures. :) I only upload camera pictures at a certain time, and I can't break my routine!
Bella's favorite things to go for remain Bella's toys. :) Here she is taking off after a doll. She gets the most gleeful look in her face whenever she spies Bella's dolls and takes off for them as fast as she can go! Until Bella stops her. :)
She also enjoys heading off for Tommy, again with a gleeful expression on her face! He is beginning to tolerate her yanking on his fur more. Poor kitty, must've realized that he isn't going to escape this girl! Grace also tries to go play in his food and water- little stinker. She is a bit more mischievous than Bella ever was in terms of getting into things she's not supposed to. She likes to find cords, door stoppers, paper, other random household objects...
She does have her own toys- not that she prefers to play with them. :)
Being the second child, Grace gets to be drug around wherever her big sister takes off too. Thankfully she is good with wherever she is brought. She especially enjoyed sitting by the pool and splashing around in the water!
Bella even let her play in that without complaints. :)
Grace also gets to make visits down to the farm to visit the horses and kitties. However, I think our trips down there may be over. We haven't seen the cats in a long time, so Bella has lost her interest. So sad!
Grace has always been a very happy baby with us, but around others she typically is pretty solemn and just stares at people. However, she has started to treat others to her sweet little smile!
She has also started to become a lot more vocal. And I hate to admit it, but I do believe her first word occurred this month- dada. :) She has been saying dadada for quite some time, but we now think she actually knows it is a word for dada. However, I was okay with this because Gracie has developed quite an attachment to Mommy. She cries if somebody else is holding her and she wants me to hold her, staring at me with a longing face. :) So we'll let dada be the first word! She also has been saying lala, and she did say mama too- but sadly not with a mama recognition.
We can also tell Gracie is understanding us a lot more. She looks at Derek, Bella, and I when we tell her to look for one of us. She does so big and waves as well.
She is still a super little eater! She now eats three meals a day- typically rice cereal or oatmeal cereal for breakfast, jar of fruit or veggies at lunch, and then jar and 1/2 of fruit/veggies for supper. Then she nurses 4-5 times a day. We started some table food with her, but she isn't too interested in that yet. She does love her puffs and crunchies though! A new tooth also popped through on her 9 month birthday- the top right side, which is crazy as her front teeth are not through yet! THey are pretty close though; I can feel them on my finger but they just haven't broken through.
There is that big cheesy smile- identical to sister's! I'm so glad that other people are finally getting to see it, and not just in pictures! For the most part, Grace continues to have a very mild and easygoing temperament. However, like her sister (and possibly her mama), she has a very fierce temper. She arches her back, throws her head back and lets out a vicious wail when she is mad about something.
Grace's mobility definitely took off even more this month. She transitioned her army crawl into on her hands and knees, and she is now getting quite speedy in exploring the house! The hardwood floor is one of her favorite places to visit for some reason. You'd think it would hurt her little knees!
Demonstrating her plank pose. :) Gracie also is beginning to climb (oh dear) and pull herself up. The first time she pulled herself up, she was sitting in the bathtub. Of all the crazy places to do that at! Thankfully she didn't slip and wipe out!
We just love this little girl so much. :)
Ending with a VERY silly smile!
