Tulip Time 2012!

We all had a lot of fun at Tulip Time this year- although there were no tulips during the actual Tulip Time. :) Thankfully we had already taken pictures of the girls when the tulips were in full bloom (a month prior!), so it didn't matter for us! Bella was surprisingly a very cooperative subject to photograph- probably because she enjoyed being in her "princess dress."

Her little sister, on the other hand, was not willing to crack a smile. :)

At least one girl posed away. :)

Bella was very sweet to sister during our photograph time- giving her lots of hugs and sisterly love.

Notice that Bella may have plucked something as a little souvenir... She's a little too used to picking whatever flowers she wants at our house.
This was Gracie's typical pose and expression- just staring at the flowers and paying no attention to us whatsoever.  :)
Bella looks soooo grown-up in this picture! It's crazy to think she was Gracie's size just two years ago.
Awww. :)

Our one successful picture of both of them smiling! I guess that's all we needed anyway. :)

Hee hee, I love this one. :) She looks so cute from the side with her lacy hat!

We managed to sneak another little smile from missy before we were all done!

Skipping ahead a month to actual Tulip Time. :) We had Bella "run" in the Kids Klompen this year. I say "run" because it was definitely not a run by any means. She ran by her friend Ella, and they held hands/skipped/sauntered their way to the finish line on their own time. Daddy had her practicing her fast run the day before as she actually is quite fast- but she definitely did not run during the actual race!
It was still quite adorable to watch though. :)
We didn't do any of the parades on Thursday, but did go uptown Thursday night to let Bella play in the Kids Corner with Cayden. They had lots of fun jumping around in the favorite jump house!

She also had to check out some slides. :)
And then found a painting activity, which kept her very busy! Bella adores her painting.
I walked in the baby parade on Friday with Gracie and my friend Lia and her baby Luke. Bella was going to ride with me as well, but she ditched me to watch part of the parade with Grandpa Doug and Grandma Sheri. :) Just as well, she would've been begging to come out of the stroller anyway!
Bella then rode in the parade later with Cayden, Grandpa Ralph, and Grandma LuAnn. She had a very beautiful princess wave of course. :)
Attempting a family picture after the parade- not the best idea as both girls were hot, tired, and ready to go home! I also love how Derek didn't fix Grace's skirt- so she looks naked from the bottom down. :)
Another attempt with Grandpa and Grandma, which was also unsuccessful!
After some naps and rest time, we went to eat uptown on Friday night and watched the evening parade. We ran into Shawn and ChyAnne and the kids, so Bella got to play with her cousins a little bit- and we posed the two babies for a picture. They will be such good little buddies someday!
Watching the night parade with Cayden- these two had lots of fun together watching!
Bella in particular loved dancing to all the bands. :)
Gracie wasn't too impressed with sitting for such a long time, so she took a standing break with Daddy.
Apparently there was something loud happening in this picture! I guess it didn't faze Bella. :)
She definitely had a good time at the parade! It was worth the late night.
We hadn't seen the Dutchesses dance and sing yet, so on Saturday we wanted to make sure Bella saw that as we knew she would enjoy it. And she definitely did!
Plus- she got to go participate in some Dutch dancing by herself! She absolutely loved it. "I'm going to do that when I get bigger!" Yes I'm sure you will Miss Bella. :)
We went to the Kids Corner to play some more- Bella made a beautiful princess wand.
Gracie chilled in the stroller. Such an easygoing girl!
Jumping in the ball pit!

On a very important phone call I'm guessing.
And naturally some more painting had to be done!
We went to the inflatables in Westmarket Park, which we know now is not a good idea on a hot day. Derek said the slide was burning, and all the jump houses were hot too. Bella would not have been a fan of that!
But we found a face painting booth, which she is all about. :)
She is becoming a pro at getting her face painted!
This time she was a beautiful butterfly. Complete with a necklace to match her dress. :)
Gracie spent the morning and afternoon chewing on toys...
and water bottles. ;)
We watched part of the afternoon parade, but both girls were pretty worn out. So we just watched a little bit! Enough for Bella to dance to some bands.
And we got a picture of the two together- although Gracie looks pretty dazed and hot. :) It was a very fun Tulip Time though!
